Agartala (Tripura) [India], July 6 (ANI): In a ceremony commemorating the 123rd birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the importance of governance transparency, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He vowed to lead Tripura with the same integrity, addressing the need for corruption-free governance to ensure longevity and trust in the administration.
Highlighting the current political landscape, CM Saha remarked on the deteriorating situation in West Bengal, likening it to a “mini Pakistan.” He expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s expanding influence, predicting future victories in West Bengal and Kerala, following the recent success in Odisha.
CM Saha paid homage to Dr Mookerjee, lauding his pivotal role in the “One Nation, One Law, One Flag, One Leader” ideology.
Dr Mookerjee, revered as ‘Bharat Kesari,’ is remembered for his sacrifice for India’s integrity and sovereignty. At the BJP Tripura State Office, surrounded by party leaders and workers, the Chief Minister reflected on Dr Mukherjee’s illustrious life and contributions.
CM Saha praised Dr Mukherjee’s academic brilliance and nationalist spirit, noting his significant achievements, including inviting Rabindranath Tagore to Calcutta University and introducing Bengali as a subject there. He credited Dr Mookerjee for safeguarding West Bengal and Punjab during crucial times.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Saha called for continued dedication to the values upheld by Dr Mookerjee, ensuring that the BJP’s legacy endures in the collective memory of the people. He acknowledged the journey of the BJP, from its roots in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founded by Dr Mookerjee in 1951 to its reformation as the BJP by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1980.
CM Saha underscored the enduring relevance of Dr Mookerjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophies in contemporary India. He commended Prime Minister Modi for embodying these ideals in his governance, advocating for the country’s welfare. Saha urged all to follow the path laid out by Dr Mookerjee, committing to national service and sacrifice.
The tribute event was attended by BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, Vice President Subal Bhowmik, and various senior leaders of the party, who joined in honouring the legacy of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee. (ANI)
