Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 4 (ANI): Congress leader Harish Chaudhary on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Congress leader and former Bikaner MP Rameshwar Lal Dudi, describing the loss as “irreparable” for Rajasthan.
In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Chaudhary recalled Dudi’s long political journey, which began in his student life and later saw him emerge as a strong voice for the oppressed, deprived, and marginalised communities in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.
“Beginning his political journey from student life, farmer leader Rameshwar Dudi ji, who raised the voice of the oppressed, exploited, and deprived sections of society in the country’s largest panchayat, the Lok Sabha, as well as in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, and fought for their rights, has passed away. This is extremely sad and unfortunate for all of us,” Congress leader said in his post on Facebook.
“May God grant the departed soul a place in His feet and give the bereaved family the strength to bear this grief. Dudi Sahib’s passing is an irreparable loss for the entire state,” he further added.

Former Congress MP from Rajasthan’s Bikaner, Rameshwar Lal Dudi, passed away at the age of 62 after remaining in a coma for nearly two years. A veteran politician, Dudi had been active in politics since 1995.
Born on July 1, 1963, Dudi began his political journey with the student group NSUI and gradually rose from the grassroots to hold significant positions in both state and national politics. His wife, Sushila Dudi, currently serves as the MLA from Nokha.
Dudi’s political career spanned several milestones. He served as the Pradhan of Nokha (1995-1999) before being elected as a Member of Parliament from Bikaner (1999-2004), where he was also part of the Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Committee. From 2005 to 2010, he held the post of Bikaner District Chief.
In 2013, Dudi returned to the state assembly as the MLA from Nokha and went on to serve as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (2014-2018). Most recently, in 2022, he was appointed Chairman of the Rajasthan State Agro-Industries Development Board. (ANI)
