New Delhi [India], July 16 (ANI): Ahead of the Parliament’s monsoon session, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday slammed the government and stated that the parliament would only function properly when there was a consensus between the government and the opposition, further stating that it was the responsibility of the government to ensure the consensus between the two.
“Parliament will function properly only when there is a consensus between the government and the opposition and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that there is a consensus between the two…” Ramesh told ANI.
H fortunate that in the last 11 years, bills had been introduced and were asked to be passed without any discussion, which was not good for democracy. e further stated that it was unfortunate that in the last 11 years, bills had been introduced and were asked to be passed without any discussion, which was not good for democracy.
“Unfortunately, in the last 11 years, bills have been introduced suddenly and asked to be passed immediately without any discussion…This is not good for democracy… There should also be a session for the issues that the opposition wants to raise. Things cannot just work one way…” he further stated.
