Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 20 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given instructions to electrify the remaining 227 Gram Panchayat buildings out of 697 Gram Panchayats in the state under the Bharat Net Project in a time-bound manner so that broadband connectivity can be provided in them as soon as possible. Radha Raturi directed that, keeping in mind the difficult geographical situation of the state, strategic importance, and sensitivity towards natural disasters, the Bharat Net Project should be implemented in a time-bound manner.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi reviewed Bharat Net, Delhi Dehradun Expressway, Deoband Roorkee Railway Line Project and AMRUT 2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation 2.0), and (PM-ABHIM) PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission programs under the PM Pragati Portal in the Secretariat.
In the meeting, information was given regarding the progress of the Bharat Net Project in the state that, out of 697 Gram Panchayats, 339 have been electrified with permanent connections. 173 Gram Panchayats have paid the required fee to UPCL for electrification. 43 Gram Panchayats have been shifted to urban areas, where the electrification process of 33 has been completed and the remaining 10 sites are being transferred to the Department of School Education and Women and Child Development. 98 Gram Panchayats have been listed in the category of no Gram Panchayat building, which is in a precarious situation. Alternative sites are being identified to shift the GPON equipment. The remaining 44 Gram Panchayats are in the process of applying and paying for an electricity connection.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed the quick implementation of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and Deoband Roorkee Railway Line Projects. She has also directed for effective coordination with the Uttar Pradesh government in this regard.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed to ensure regular monitoring of the projects operated under the AMRUT 2.0 program through the Secretary Urban Development. Along with this, the Chief Secretary has given instructions to train citizens to increase public participation in monitoring the quality of drinking water. The Chief Secretary has especially given instructions to provide training in water testing and information regarding the operation of water treatment plant to women self-help groups.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given instructions to prepare a time-bound action plan for various activities under PM-ABHIM (PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission).
The Chief Secretary has given instructions to regularly update the mapping, progress, photographs and expenditure information of all the above projects on the PMS portal. (ANI)
